A busy week

Like so many of us, this time of year is busy, busy, busy. It's the ending of Summer and the beginning of Fall with lots of exciting things happening.  This week the Skurski household was buzzing:

Mom and Dad and Auntie Christy and Uncle Dan were able to cheer on the Sounders to a victory and got to see Clint Dempsey play.  Big stuff!

Carmen had her last day of 'school'.  Sadly her school is closing.  Yes, again.  We must have bad luck as this is the second pre-school she's been at that has closed.  She was able to celebrate her last day with Pajama Day and a Teddy Bear picnic.  She chose her glow-in-the-dark bone PJ's (thanks, Anna!) and opted to bring Lamby rather than a teddy bear.  She will miss her teachers and friends, but is excited to start her new school with Maxy next week.  She will also be sad to end her tradition of getting a Slurpee treat on Tuesday's when Daddy picks her up. I'm sure there are other treats in her future.

Carmen's first session of swim lessons ended.  She is getting more and more comfortable in the water and loves to jump in from the side of the pool but is less enthusiastic about back-floats.  Another session is on the calendar; she'll become a fish yet.

Max ate us out of house and home this week.  All this kid wants to eat is fruit--namely watermelon and grapes' occasionally banana, oranges and pear.  He can not get enough.  He consumes bowls and bowls of it and shovels it in by the fist-full.  He pretty much refuses anything else but gobbles up every morsel of fruit.  I guess it could be worse but I'm hoping he'll branch out and maybe eat a vegetable or some protein one of these days.

The home opener Husky game arrived against Boise State.  As you can imagine, there is more than a little excitement from Jimmy about kicking off football season.  The entire family sported purple and gold.  Kiddos spent time with cousins and Auntie and Uncle while Mom and Dad enjoyed tailgating and checking out the new stadium.
