8 Happy Years

Happy eight wonderful years and counting.  I am honored and blessed to have you by my side. Can't wait for what the next eight years have in store.

And now, a funny:

6,350 Miles

This week flew by as we were busy visiting with Tasha, Dan and Zane who traveled 6,350 miles from Baku, Azerbaijan for a trip home to Seattle.  Carmen was thrilled to meet her Auntie, Uncle Danji and cousin and enjoyed going on walks, blowing bubbles and exploring the yard with them.  We enjoyed catching up over several good meals and all being under the same roof. We are so happy they are here and we will get to see them a few more times before they head back for another year abroad. 

 

 

7 Months

This month has been full of new discoveries and you are starting to learn the relationships between things.  You often stare at your hands in amazement as you wave them around.  It's like you're saying, "hmmm...these are attached to me and I can make them move."  It's fun to see the little light bulbs going off.  You now put both arms up in the air when you want to be picked up or want out of your car seat.  While you still are not crawling forward, your rolling has become insanely efficient and I wonder if you will crawl at all since you can move with lightning speed.  You are exploring with sounds and like to stick your tongue out and blow bubbles and you crack us up when you are 'talking' to yourself.  You are fascinated with food and gobble up most any table food you are given and love watching as we move around the kitchen cooking dinner.  You continue to warm our hearts with your ear to ear smile and your two little 'rabbit' teeth.  What a wonderful, inquisitive creature you are.  Happy 7 months old to our baby girl.

Week in review

This past week has been a busy one.  Carmen loves playing peek-a-boo with Daddy when he comes home from work and she had some big laughs and giggles which we were able to catch on video.  She completed her second session of swim lessons where she dunked her entire head under water.  She's becoming quite the little fishy.  She also attended her first day of daycare this week where she got to take a nap on a mat and eat yogurt melts (all very exciting in her world).  We then hosted a play date with 6 other kiddos which was lots of fun.  Carmen learned how to share her toys and showed her friends how fun it is to roll under the coffee table.  We took her to her first Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, the first of many to come. She then spent time with her cousins while mommy and daddy went to the Sounders game.  We ended the week watching the nail-biter Women's World Cup where the US put up a good fight against Japan and then went to a Skurski family birthday party. Phew!

Carmen was in her first wedding this weekend.

She got to wear a pretty dress and be pulled in a wagon.  Very exciting.
