Arizona Wildlife

We've been out and about in the neighborhood.
Sometimes by golf cart.
Sometimes by foot.
Lots of walks and lots of exploring.
Here are a few or our recent finds.

Coyote in the backyard.
He was eating an orange and then went on his way.

Peruvian Giant cactus blooms.
They are short-lived in that they bloom just before dawn or just before sunset
and the flower withers and dies within a few short hours.
They are beautiful and we've been lucky to watch them.

 Carmen's favorite cactus she found.

Hard to see but a
humming bird is among the rocks

Our little fruit pickers.
Bags and bags of oranges, lemons and grapefruit
picked and distributed to neighbors and friends.

The world's largest grapefruit
(in Grandma's yard).

A funny...

I heard a doctor on TV say, to get through the boredom of self isolation, we should finish things we start and thus have more calm in our lives.

I looked around the house to find all the things I've started and hadn't finished. So I finished off a bottle of Merlot,a bottle of Chardonnay, a bottle of Jock Danielas, a butle of wum, tha ramander of a Vallimum scriptun, an a boc of chocletz. Yu haf no idia how frekken fablus I feel rite now. Plese sed this to all whoo ned inner piss an tel em u luvum.

Oh, so grown up...

Our little girl seems so grown-up tonight.
She's participating in an online Zoom meeting for Girl Scouts
since they can't meet in-person as a Troop.
It works to her advantage since we are in AZ,
but so surreal to see your nine-year-old logged into a
meeting and presenting the materials she prepared.

'Sheltering' in Arizona

We have been making the best of these crazy times.
We headed south to Arizona a bit early.
Originally we planned to be here to celebrate an extraordinary man;
my Dad, our grandpa, our friend, our role model.
Unfortunately we had to postpone his memorial service.
Family is 'stuck' internationally and domestically with the inability to travel,
churches and gathering places are closed. An unprecedented time.
This virus is impacting us in so many unusual ways.
Luckily, we were able to travel and arrive with no hiccups.
Now, we are here in Arizona for an indefinite period of time.
Thankful for this time with my mom and with Grandma.
Arizona sunshine, dinners together, swimming, sharing memories.
It's not the same without you dad...
Thank you for laying the foundation for a wonderful life.
We love you!

Happy Birthday Dad.
Thinking of you today and always.
May you be celebrating with
loved ones and among the angels.
We will certainly be toasting you.
To our precious memories,
both past and present.
Cheers to you dear Dad.
So much love.

Randoms

Just a few random happenings.
Some playdates. Some school events.
Some time at home.
Mostly just plain old fun.
