Big Boy Bed
Max has finally graduated from crib to 'big boy bed.' We waited a long time to make the transition; there was no rush, but it was time. He is so excited and is happy to tell everyone he knows (or doesn't even know, like people at the grocery store) that he has a new bed with dinosaur sheets. Big stuff in his world. So far the transition has been a smooth one, the staying in bed and sleeping part is fine, its just the going to bed part that he doesn't like...

Dance Camp, Superhero Style
Carmen finished her first week of camp. Superhero dance camp in fact. In the five days a superhero mask and cape were crafted along with other superhero-y things, dancing and moving ensued, daily playing of musical instruments was a hit along with a daily story she got to help create. Oh yes, there was dancing, moving and just plain being silly and having fun. In true Carmen style, she was super shy at the beginning despite doing the camp with her pal Maci. She warmed up some but stayed glued to her very patient teacher who happily tolerated her Carmen shadow for the week. But, every day Carmen would come home super excited about her time at camp and would fly around the house with her supergirl powers. The week culminated with walking in the Mountlake Terrace,Tour de Terrace parade. She got dressed in a batgirl costume and happily marched with her other classmates. She enjoyed channeling her inner superhero, waving to the crowd and handing out candy. All in all, a fun week!
Ready for camp!
She insisted on wearing this shirt almost every day.
First day. So happy Maci (and Lamby) were there.
Showing off some moves.
Modeling their cape creations.
Can't forget the masks to go with the capes.
A little supergirl sass.
Parade time. Lots of supergirl power.
My own supergirl.
Marching the parade route.
A quick shot with Maxy as we went by.
Daddy and Max watching the festivities.
Thanks teacher Maria for a fun time!

Diving
Max has spent the last couple of weeks perfecting his dive. Over and over and over again. He's a diving machine. Dive really means belly flop but it doesn't seem to phase him.

Busy, busy, busy
Summer is in full swing. We've been keeping busy and enjoying every moment. It's been a summer filled with sun, fun, family and lots of activities. Here are a few recent highlights:
Grandma & Papa visit. Grandma and Papa 'Son' were here for a nice visit. The kids were thrilled to have them under the same roof and couldn't get enough. As always, the time flew by way too quickly but we had some nice dinners, walks and bike rides and a trip to the zoo. We look forward to their next visit; we miss them already!
Pike Place Market. The kids made their first trip to the market. We had fresh made doughnuts, checked out the many other yummy foods available and saw some of the touristy sites. Carmen held her nose most of the time due to the 'fishy' smell. She refused to pose for any pics with the seafood.
Silver Celebration. We helped uncle Dan & auntie Christy celebrate 25 years of marriage. A wonderful time was had by all--lots of eating and dancing the night away, connecting with family and friends. Congrats on 25 amazing years!
M's game. The kids attended their first Mariner's game. Of course, new hats were in order. They enjoyed sitting still for 5 minutes and making multiple trips to the concession stand. They lasted until the 5th inning and then it was time to go. We had two tuckered out kiddos but a wonderful time.

Cute Quote
Tonight while watching a movie...
Me: Carmen, is the movie a little scary?
Carmen: No, Max is right next to me so I'm not scared.
