Mommy-Daughter Day

Today Carmen and I had a special girl's only, mommy-daughter outing.  She's been looking forward to it all week.  Is it mommy-Carmen day?  Not yet, two more sleeps.  But, today was the day.  She was so excited.  It started off with a trip to the coffee store for her absolutely favorite thing right now, a ham breakfast sandwich.  You would have thought she has just won the lottery.  So. Happy.  Who know a sandwich could be so powerful.  Then, off to a movie.  Planes Fire & Rescue.  Of course, since it's been out for so long, the only theatre showing it was 45 minutes away.  Apparently, just the right amount of time to consume almost an entire breakfast sandwich. To the movie we went.  Oh yes, couldn't forget the popcorn.  Just enough room left in her tummy for popcorn after her sandwich.  Covered ears during the trailers, but all smiles during the movie.  She loved it.  After consuming 75% of a bag of popcorn, there was only room in her tummy for a sucker (no lunch).  So of course, on mommy-daughter day, she got her sucker and then promptly passed out in the car after 5 minutes and slept the entire way home.

It was a fun, fun day and I look forward to many, many more mommy-daughter days!
