Fish, Fish and More Fish

This weekend we took a trip to the aquarium. 

We had two excited kiddos and lots of fish and fish-related sights to see. 

First it was starfish time.

 

Then, Carmen transformed into a jellyfish.

A few moments spent oohing and aahing at the octopus.

Time to get measured against a shark. 

They have a bit of growing to do.

Maxy Antics

Just a few recent pics of our hambone.  Boy how he makes me smile.

 

Egg Time

Tonight was egg coloring time.  It was serious fun.  Carmen was thrilled to put the fizzy pellets into the vinegar and dip the eggs into the dye.  It was the waiting for the eggs to get their color that was challenging.  That, and praying that Max didn't knock over all of the color cups.  We came out with 12 brightly colored eggs--success!  And, to top it off, there was a double-rainbow tonight; pretty incredible. Tomorrow's activity--decorating the eggs with stickers.

 

Spring time swing

We are in full swing for Spring.  The nice weather this weekend certainly helped.  We played outside, rode bikes, mowed the lawn, Carmen went to soccer class, we cheered Daddy on at softball and the big event of the weekend was shooing the ducks from our pond.  It's quite the ordeal.  Two friendly ducks find their way into our pond.  Carmen spots them immediately, gets her shoes on and is out the back door in a flash.  She grabs her rake and runs for the ducks.  They fly across the street and sit on the parking strip and wait patiently. Both Max and Carmen run to the window, climb onto the window sill and watch.  They wait until the ducks are ready to start the entire routine over.  Carmen even went so far as to make a stop sign for our duck friends.  "Stop Ducks" is proudly displayed on our back door.

Looking forward to many more days of sunshine and fun weekends ahead.

 

 

Vacation

We are back from two wonderful weeks of vacation in the Arizona sunshine.  We did so many fun things and were blessed with great weather and even better company with Grandma and Papa Son.  The trip taught us all some important life lessons and how lucky we are to have each other. 

Here are some magical memories made during our vacation.

While we are vacation, our blog took a vacation too.  We are now back in routine and so is the blog.
