The Skurski elves have been hard at work. Outside lights are up, tree has been selected and appropriately trimmed, Dicken's Village is up and has a few new accessories this year, Red (our elf) has been present for a week now, Christmas jammies are being worn, egg nog is in the fridge, new Santa hats arrived for all of us courtesy of Grandma and Papa 'Son", Christmas tunes are playing in the house and car, candy cane consumption is in full effect, the gingerbread house is ready for decorating, holiday cards are almost ready for mailing...it's been busy, but oh so good to prepare and enjoy the Christmas season. Looking forward to many wonderful holiday moments this year!

Field Trip
Today was field trip day to the Pacific Science Center for Carmen's class. All the kiddos were way excited--first field trip of the year! It was busy, it was crazy, it was full of fun. Three whole hours to explore, experiment, run around and check-out all of the exhibits.
First kindergarten field trip in the books! Maybe I'll be ready to chaperone again by the time the next one rolls around. Kindergartners are great but oh so exhausting!
Carmen's highlight was the butterfly garden.

Halloween Hijinx
Picking the perfect pumpkin at the local market.
Max's class took a trip to the pumpkin patch.
23 kiddos + bus ride + farm animals + pouring down rain +
playing in corn kernels + mud +
soggy boots + picking out a pumpkin =
endless fun
Fall Festival at Max's school.
Cookie walk, face paint, crafts and games.
Next up, two school parties.
First Max,
PiƱata, treats and more treats.
Then Carmen,
classroom snacks and festivities and a parade.
Annual pumpkin carving with great friends.
More fun with costumes and all things Halloween thanks to
birthday parties and friend get-to-gethers.
Kids have had enough sugar to last until next Halloween...

Dinner Conversation
Tonight Carmen had a friend over for dinner. The dinner topic between the two of them and Max was if the Booger monster actually exists. Two were firmly sticking to 'yes' that if you indeed stick your finger up your nose you will get bitten by the Booger monster. True story. The other couldn't be convinced. It was quite amusing to listen to the debate. Ah, to be 5 again.
