Where's Maxy?

I could barely find him in his crib this morning among all his possessions.  I think he has enough lovies.  What is not pictured is his orange plastic pitching wedge.  His ultimate prized possession.  He sleeps with it almost every night.  It's become part of the bed time routine.  That, and laying on the floor for two minutes to look at the stars and moon on the ceiling.  Oh, and then there's eating a snack (or second dinner) right before bed too.  I swear this kid has a hollow leg; I'm not looking forward to the grocery bill when he becomes a teenager.  While gazing at the stars on the ceiling, he asked if he could eat the stars and the moon too.

 Sweet dreams sweet boy!

Tonight's Increadible Moon

Dentist

Today Max had his first dentist appointment.  I'm happy to report it was very uneventful; exactly what I was hoping for.  He played (drove a car, built with blocks), watched part of a movie, played with a giant toothbrush, got a prize and oh yes, got his teeth brushed and looked at by the dentist--the whole reason we were there.  With all of the fun, he kind of forgot we were there for his teeth.

Day Off

Today Daddy took the day off from work.  Carmen was confused, but presently surprised, when Daddy was not at work this morning, but home.  Every single morning Carmen asks me where Daddy is, and every single morning my reply is the same; he's at work.  Today he was home, which meant hot chocolates for the kids and a vanilla latte for mommy.  A good start to the day.

On today's agenda was a family trip to the zoo.   It's always amazing to me that each time we go, we see something completely different.  Today's highlights included:

Up  close with the orangutans

 Bath time for the elephant

Practicing being an elephant

Big bear going for a swim

Spending time with Daddy

 Scary komodo dragon

Then, it was errand time, a casual dinner after much-needed baths and then watching Frozen (for the 100th time) with popcorn to round out the night.

Not bad for a day off!
