Old Man Hair

While I love my daughter more than anything in this world and think she is the most beautiful baby, there is no denying that at this moment in time she has old main hair.  While her hair continues to grow longer in the back and on top there is a big patch missing in the back.  It's really quite the fashion statement.  I can't wait to see what it does next, it certainly has a mind of its own.

Afternoon Tea

Today was a special day for Carmen and me as Grandma hosted an afternoon tea for the lovely ladies of Sun City West to meet Carmen.  We drank tea, ate finger sandwiches and petifores and had the opportunity to visit with so many wonderful friends of my parents.  Carmen thoroughly enjoyed her time in the spotlight and even dressed up for the occasion.  We feel very blessed at the kindness and generosity shown to us today.

Pool Time

3 Months

At three months Carmen is as active as ever.  She is constantly moving--wiggling her arms and kicking her legs.  She has become quite vocal and I laugh every time she is "talking" to herself and wonder what she is thinking.  Her latest discovery has been her beloved thumb.  She is no longer interested in her pacifier and much prefers munching on her thumb, which seems to instantly put her to sleep.  She continues to smile from ear to ear, which we can't get enough of.  We certainly feel very lucky that she is ours.

Arizona

After a long week we made our first trip together as a family to Arizona to visit Grandma and Grandpa Stephenson.  Carmen was quite the traveler and barely made a peep on the flight--we're hoping this was not just a fluke and she will be the same sleeping angel on the leg home. 

Thus far Carmen is loving Arizona.  She is super excited to spend time with Grandma and Grandpa and enjoys checking out the new landscape of cactus and fruit trees but is having a difficult time figuring out what the big bright thing is in the sky.  But, above all, her favorite thing is to stare intently at the ceiling fan. Easily entertained!

We are lucky to be able to spend three weeks in the desert and look forward to a fun filled vacation with many adventures ahead.
