Soccer Ref

Carmen had the opportunity to participate in a
soccer refereeing program.
She jumped at the chance.
Get a whistle, watch and be in charge...
what was there to think about!
She's been doing great, reffing 2 games per weekend
and gets paid!
She's learning the rules and gaining perspective.
Being a ref can be hard work.
Proud of her!

T-E-N

 This guy is ten today!
Two full handfuls; a decade.
Hard to believe.

So many wonderful unique things that make you, you.
So many reasons why we love you.

Your enthusiasm for the things you love,
your un-enthusiasm for the things you don't.
Either way, it's done with passion.

Your big toothy smile, your silly songs and jokes,
your dances. Your mouth and body are constantly in motion.
The trend continues...

The way your reach for my hand and still ask me to snuggle
melts my heart and always will. It was just last night.
These moments I will never forget.
I will hold on to them tightly for I know I'm living on borrowed
time with these small gestures but I'll take it for as long as I can.

Despite your rough exterior and tough nature,
you are still soft and sensitive.
You have confidence.
and do not get rattled often.
You are sound in your decision making
and stick to your opinions.

You despise books and anything you have to read. Sigh.
You love math, numbers and solving puzzles.
You ask lots of questions.
Your mind is always moving too.

You thrive on weekend soccer watching (and playing),
you like to stay busy, and you always are.

You love nothing more than a snuggly blanket
and petting Blitzen.

Your life still revolves around all things sports, video games
and your friends. Sounds quite perfect to me.

You are loyal, goofy, sarcastic, have a big heart and
the best smile and laugh.

You make us proud beyond belief.

Happy Birthday 10-year-old!
Wishing you every good thing.
Love you so much.

First Day of School

 It's here -- first day of school 2022 - 2023!
It always arrives with mixed emotions.
Happy to have the kids back in routine
but sad to see summer come to an end.
Regardless, it's happening. Ready or not!

Off to Middle School -- sixth grade!

Fourth Grade!

I know it's going to be a great year for these two.
Look out world...
