Family Get-Away

 This weekend we whisked the kids away for two days in Suncadia.

We picked them up from school with the car packed.

They had no idea where we were headed. 

Kind of fun to keep them guessing.

While there was no sun to be had, we had a great time.

While the weather was wet, the rain stayed away when we needed it to.

We had lots of outside time, swimming and hot tubbing, 

a yummy meal in town (the best ever according to Max), 

hiking, game playing and movie watching.

We also played a game of 'Where's Max?'

Then, the 1,000 Step Challenge...

Phew, made it!

Husky Homecoming

 This weekend was homecoming for the UW Huskies.
It was a special night as Max and his best buddy took to the field
to partake in the homecoming festivities. 

The hi-fives from the players were the definite highlight.

While the Huskies didn't pull out a victory,

it was still a super fun, memorable night!

Carmen and I had our own kind of fun!

Music Time

 It's here. 5th grade is the year.
Officially time to choose an instrument.
Carmen's first choice was granted....clarinet!

She's been practicing putting it together, 

putting on the reed, and cleaning it. 

She's dabbled in 'how to play'
but nothing official yet.
She is anxious to get started. 

The cats however may be less enthused. 
Once the squeaking subsides 

they may be more accepting of the noise.

Hopefully noise turns into music soon!

Room Update

 Goodbye beige and brown,
hello gray and blue.
It was time for Max's room to get a little update.
Some new paint, a toy purge and re-arrangement of furniture.
