Cheetah Soccer

The girls were great and got back into the swing of
soccer after not having played for almost a year.
Just games, no practices but lots of fun.
These girls are a tight group and their parents are too.
 A win, win.
To celebrate the ending of the season,
we had a game of kids vs. parents soccer.
Lots of laughing, yelling, chaos, sore muscles
and rusty knees for the parents
but so much fun!
Thanks Cheetah family for making the season memorable.
Looking forward to Fall.

Team Cheetahs

Almost all of the Cheetah girls have a little brother (7 out of 10 girls);
enough little brothers to field their own team.

Organized Chaos

Cheetah moms and their girls.

Best group of 'soccer Moms' and proud of it!

School's Out

What a year! We made it!
Definitely a milestone worth celebrating.
Done with Fourth and Second Grade -- crazy!
It was filled with many ups and downs but we persevered through it all.
The last day of school was the perfect kick-off
for what will no doubt be an amazing summer.

Baseball Season is a wrap

First season of kid pitch is a wrap.
It was fun to watch the boys play, learn, grow and improve.
Their team name was The Phoenixes
(a unique name the boys came up with)
and they had lots of fun together.
Max was with his best buddy and they made the most out of it.
Lots of great hitting and catching,
learning how to pitch 'em straight,
dugout shenanigans...
It was a great season!

Team Phoenixes....

Testing his pitching arm.

5 and 6...two great numbers,
two great friends.

A couple of hitting highlights...

Batter up.

Everything's better with buddies:

Great season Phoenixes!

Soccer Summer Kick-off

Soccer tournament season is in full swing.
First up, Proliance Xfire Summer kick-off. Four games this weekend.
The boys did great and placed first in their division.
Lots of goals scored and lots of goals saved. They were looking good out there.
It was wacky weather. Sunny and 70+ on Saturday and raining on Sunday.
Carmen came to a couple of games to cheer her brother on.
She was a trooper and quite possibly a good luck charm.
See you on the pitch next weekend....

Goodbye Sweet Luna

It's with a heavy heart we had to make the
very difficult decision to put our sweet Luna down.
She started having seizures that couldn't be controlled.

She declined quickly and with every day our hearts ached.
She was the kindest, most easiest going cat.
She was a lover, a snuggler, an important part of our family.

Of course Carmen was beside herself.
Luna was her joy, her world, her everything.
Luna and Carmen cuddled and slept together every night.
Most of the time Luna slept on Carmen's head
and was always by her side.
They both loved each other very much.

Thankfully, Carmen has an amazing support system and
the best friends a 10-year-old could ask for.
She received hand made cards and small gifts to help
ease her pain and make her feel better.
When she's ready (and the rest of us too), we'll get another kitten.
Not a replacement for Luna but another little bundle to love.

Blitz is doing ok, but definitely misses his sister.
He knows the balance of the world is not quite right.

There is no one to knock over all of our water cups,
to be Carmen's alarm clock,
to eat all of the wet food since Blitz doesn't like it,
to play with all of the creepy crawlies found in the house
(not Blitz's thing either),
no one to tolerate playing dress-up with Carmen,
to plop herself right in the middle of everything --
Carmen's school work, an active board game,
sleeping in Carmen's laundry basket on all of the clean clothes.
So many amazing memories of our sweet Luna.

Carmen and Max both received kittens for Christmas from Santa three years ago.
I will never forget them fighting over the picture of the cats.
They both wanted Blitzen because he had stripes.
Once Carmen found out the dark gray cat was a girl,
she decided that cat would be hers.
Little did she know that those two would compliment each other perfectly.
A true match made in heaven.
There was a full moon on the night we received the cats.
Therefore Luna seemed like the ideal name.
The moment she came into Carmen's life, there was nothing but joy.

It's a hard lesson to loose someone you love and
I'm very proud of Carmen for the way she's handling it.
We all miss our Luna Lou, our Luna Petunia.
You will forever be in our memory.
Goodbye sweet girl.

Earring change, finally!

Carmen has been waiting (mostly patiently) to be able to change her earrings.
Her ears looked great for a long time after piercing and then they took a little turn.
After months of spraying and taking good care of them, the time finally came --
she could change her earrings. It was a happy day!

We made a trip to get several pairs of new earrings.
A gift card from her birthday had been burning a hole in her pocket.

She's a happy (and stylish) girl!

Memorial Day Weekend

It was a fabulous holiday weekend.
Fun, sun, amazing friends, paddle boarding, pedal boating, fishing,
boat rides, long walks, good food, great conversation.
Thanks Woods Family for a truly memorable weekend!

Cheers to a wonderful weekend!
