Looking studious

Tip: they are not real :-)
She likes to call them her 'prescription' glasses.

Soccer continues...

Max has been missing soccer but has managed to still play.
His team is continuing to meet via Zoom for training sessions once a week
and he's been hard at work practicing his skills.
He's been getting really good at juggling.
We've been playing in the street and driveway a lot.
Despite our best accuracy,
we've managed to pop two soccer balls
on Saguaro cactus...

Hopscotch

In the neighborhood, some very kind and creative person
drew an elaborate hopscotch game with sidewalk chalk.
On our morning walks we stop and play for a while.
Grandma has been teaching the kids the official rules
(which I never knew as a kid).
Its been fun to learn and quite a bit more exercise than I realized!

Real Grass

We've been around a lot of cactus and rocks lately.
With parks closed and no traditional backyards in Arizona where we are,
the kids have had a lack of real live grass.
We stumbled upon a few patches at a closed rec center parking lot.
Sounds kind of random, but its been a great change of scenery.
There are a couple of trees that provide great shade and climbing fun
 and some groomed, soft, grass.
Perfect for soccer, frisbee and tag.
A small slice of heaven for the kids.

Harvesting time

It's harvesting time at the Stephenson household.
Lemons, grapefruit and lots and lots or oranges.
In Spring all of the fruit needs to be picked from the tree.
The kids took to the task and have been diligently picking fruit.
They climb the inside of the trees to get the hard-to-reach ones
and certainly enjoy using the 'picking' tool to get the high up ones.
A win-win for us all!

Adventures in homeschooling...

It's been a bit challenging at times
but we are getting into our routine.

It's not all work...
plenty of fun peppered in too!

Zoom happy hour

So thankful for these lovely ladies!
Virtual happy hour, I'll take it!
Thanks for helping make this crazy
situation a bit more tolerable.
