Basketball Season

The kids just wrapped up a successful basketball season.
They played hard and learned a lot.
Most of all they had fun playing with their friends.

Hooray for team Cheesballs!

Hooray for team Shooting Diamonds!

Heaven

Today was a difficult day.
A day I will always remember.
Today is the day you went to heaven.
I feel so blessed you were
my father, my friend, my role model.
You gave so much to the world around you.
I am humbled.
May you be at peace.
I know there are many, many
people eager to re-unite with you.
You will always be missed but never forgotten.
I love you so much, dad.

Mid-Winter Break

We enjoyed several days at Whidbey during mid-winter break.
So much fun looking for crabs, finding shells and treasures,
hot tubbing, bike riding, fishing, playing games,
enjoying lovely meals and great company.
Thanks friends!

Taco and Burrito Mix

Tonight Max insisted on making tacos for dinner.
He is really into spices and seasoning and he decided to make his own 'mix.'
He wrote down the secret ingredients for the recipe.
He even asked if we could post it to Facebook to share.
Good thing I don't have a Facebook account...
So, posting it to the blog instead :-)

Snow Shoeing

Carmen recently took to the snow with rackets on her feet
for a Girl Scout snow shoeing adventure.
They had a fun time walking the trails and learning about the environment.
Her Troop leaders are simply amazing.
She loved it and is ready for more.

Kids in Medicine

Thanks to some PTA funding at school,
the entire 3rd grade got to participate in the 'Kids in Medicine' program.
The students learned a lot about the heart.
Its a pretty incredible organ.
Then, after some discussion,
they got paired into teams to take a closer look
and dissect a pig heart.
It was an incredible experience.
So cute in their 'scrubs'!
