Soccer Season

Soccer season is in full swing.

Every Saturday is spent attending games, cheering, being with friends (new and old).

Max is rarely seen without his goalie gloves.

Carmen is rarely seen without her lucky green headband.

It's exhausting, fun and exciting all rolled into one.

Both kids are enjoying it, loving it!

Celebrating 7

This weekend we celebrated Max turning seven with a ropes course adventure.

The kids suited up in harnesses and hard hats, 

got a tutorial and a chance to practice before hitting the course.

All of the kiddos did great and were troopers despite the rainy and windy weather.

They climbed, scaled and helped each other out. It was fun to watch.

Then, we wrapped things up with ice cream sandwiches 

(the perfect chilly dessert for a chilly day).

Picture Day

Today is school picture day.

Guess who was excited and who was not...?

Apparently 'fancy' clothes aka a collared shirt,

interferes with the ability to play at recess.

And boy did he let me hear about it.

Keep in mind, he is still wearing a t-shirt, athletic pants 

and tennis shoes...I'm not that mean.

Carmen however was delighted to get a little dressed up

 and have her picture taken.

Hooray for an openminded girl!

S-E-V-E-N

Today is the day! Seven. 

Seems like a big number. You've been waiting. 

For some reason seven is a big-kid number in your mind. In ours too. 

Seven years of smiles, silliness, unmatched energy, curiosity, 

lots and lots of talking, snuggle time --

all pure joy!

You continue to amaze us everyday.

You are passionate about certain things to your core.

It's soccer all of the time for you.

Sometimes you exhaust us with your enthusiasm for it 

but its fun to see the game make you so happy -- to play and to watch.

You love numbers and math and figuring out patterns and puzzles.

You are embracing school but of course love PE the most.

You are a mover. Very few quiet moments for you.

You are at your best when your body is in motion.

You love company and to have someone to share things with.

You have confidence and are opinioned but only about certain things.

You feel strongly that comfort always wins.

Sports and athletics make the world go round for you. 

You are feisty and play hard but are kind and sensitive.

The perfect balance and perfect blend.

We love it all.

Carmen recently channeled her inner cheerleader and performed at a high-school football game.

First it was a practice session and then a chance to take to the field in front of fans for the main event.

She clapped, cheered and had lots of fun with her friends.

First day of school

Hello 1st and 3rd grade!

Happy kids ready for their first day back.
