Mariner's Home Opener

We decided to play a little hookie for the day (or at least part of it)

to watch and cheer on the M's at their home opener.

It was the perfect day.

Sunshine, blue skies and good friends.

First a ride on the Metro to downtown.

Next, lots and lots of snacks and treats to keep the masses occupied.

It was a fun filled day and a win made it that much sweeter.

While Max is at soccer practice, 

Carmen and I get to have some mom-daughter time.

So nice when the sun is shining.

Happy First Day of Spring

We are ready for blooming flowers,

bike rides, planting in the garden, playtime outside,

longer days, more sunshine and no snow!

To welcome in Spring, the kids and good friends

 took a chilly dip in Lake Washington.

$20 was at stake.

I thought there was no way; it was all talk.

But, they surprised me.

They went for it and were happy to pocket some spending money.

Nothing like bribery...

Carmen's face (and shrieking) says it all!

Birthday Milestone

Today was a very special day.

My Dad turned 80.

It was a milestone birthday celebrated with his amazing community of friends.

We flew down to surprise him for his party.

The best part was it was actually a surprise.

There were so many people there to support, celebrate and toast a wonderful man.

So happy to be a part of it all.

Today the sun was shining.  

Perfect day for a spin with Max's new bike.

Cookie season is here!

Carmen has been hard at work selling Girl Scout cookies.

She has a big goal, 600 boxes to be exact.

She is well on her way thanks to the support of family, friends, 

co-workers, teachers and neighbors alike.
