No school today = fun at the zoo!

Carmen is sporting a new haircut.  

Although I love it, it makes her look a little too old.

Pizza, Pizza

Max's class has been exploring pizza.

They made their own pizzas.

They've been learning how parts make a whole.

They've been drawing pizza and making toppings.

They've created menus, made a brick oven and

turned an area of their classroom into a pizza parlor.

It's been a huge hit.

Hooray for pizza!

Meet Luna and Blitzen

This year both kids were asking Santa for a cat.

Santa finally broke down and fulfilled their wish.

A note was left on Christmas morning that two kittens were waiting.

One for Carmen and one for Max.

Santa somehow knew we were traveling right after Christmas

and made special arrangements so the kids could get their cats when we returned.

Two cute kittens are now part of our family.

Luna is calm, petite and snuggly.

Blitzen is full of energy, in to everything but a lover.

Two cats, two very different personalities.

Kids have been over the moon with their new pets.

We are all learning how to co-exist, figure out boundaries, needs and wants.

So far so good.

We love our new additions.
