Good Morning

The kids insisted on both sleeping in Carmen's bed last night.
When I went to wake them up for school, they were cuddling and zzzing away.

Sunshine

We were lucky to spend 6 whole days visiting Grandma and Grandpa 'Son' in the Arizona sunshine.  The weather was beautiful and the company equally as great.  The kids were over the moon with swimming in the pool everyday, picking fruit from the trees, playing outside, watching movies every, single night, going for daily golf cart rides with papa, eating way too many treats...we were all royally spoiled.

Daddy stayed home this trip, so we got to fill him in on the happenings after each day.  It was a week full of fun and are blessed to have such a wonderful Grandma and Papa.

Hooray for grapefruit!

Carmen the ham...

A little cuddle time at the pool.

We were lucky to see good friends that were visiting AZ at the same time.
More pool time and popsicles.

Showing off some water moves.

Coyote siting.
They were quick.

Movie night.

One of countless ice cream sundaes
during one of the many movie night intermissions.

The kids clocked a lot of miles on the golf cart this trip.
They certainly looked forward to their daily ride with papa.

Lunch with the sharks and sting rays.
Pretty neat view.

Annual turtle pic.

Thanks for a wonderful vacation!
We'll miss you!

Evening Ritual

Most evenings you will find the four of us playing a riveting game of Sorry.  It has become the kids' favorite board game.  Bonus for us is that they often prefer to play Sorry than watch a show. Funny thing, it's the original game; original as in it's the same physical game that I played when I was growing up.  It has managed to survive the test of time and is still in great condition.  The kids are slowing learning patience, how to take turns going first, and how to be gracious winners and non-winners.  Carmen is always red, Max is blue, I'm green and Jimmy is yellow.  The game can last a long time and often Max looses steam.  It's always funny when we play for him and he ends up winning, which happens a lot.  Sorry, to the rest of us!

Multi Cultural Festival

Carmen's school hosted a multi cultural festival where participants were able to take an international journey or sorts--learn about different cultures and languages, sample yummy food from far-away places and do some crafts.  Carmen's after school club, World of Dance, got to perform on stage along with several other groups representing different ethnicities.

She absolutely loved being on stage.  No stage fright here.  She happily dressed in her costume and was eager to take the stage with her friends.  She had two proud parents and a proud brother watching.  Honestly, I was laughing so hard I was almost crying.  A for effort for this cute group!

For your viewing pleasure (our littler performer is second from the left):

No School = Lots of Fun

We took full advantage of a day off from school.

Trampoline and bouncing fun.

Kindergarten best buddies.

Brother-and-sister cheeseburger.

Hooray, the sun came out!
This is the beginning of a giant 'hot chocolate' puddle.
