Halloween Hijinx

Picking the perfect pumpkin at the local market.

Max's class took a trip to the pumpkin patch.

23 kiddos + bus ride + farm animals + pouring down rain +

 playing in corn kernels + mud +

soggy boots + picking out a pumpkin =

endless fun

Next up, two school parties.

classroom snacks and festivities and a parade.

Annual pumpkin carving with great friends.

More fun with costumes and all things Halloween thanks to

birthday parties and friend get-to-gethers.

Kids have had enough sugar to last until next Halloween...

Dinner Conversation

Tonight Carmen had a friend over for dinner.  The dinner topic between the two of them and Max was if the Booger monster actually exists.  Two were firmly sticking to 'yes' that if you indeed stick your finger up your nose you will get bitten by the Booger monster.  True story. The other couldn't be convinced.  It was quite amusing to listen to the debate.  Ah, to be 5 again.

Friday Night Sleepover

Can't beat a Friday night spent laughing, playing and being with friends!

Today was a half-day for Carmen and Max was at pre-school, so it was just us girls this afternoon. 

Girl time was spent having lunch out and getting Carmen her long overdue library card. 

She was so excited to be able to check-out books of her very own.

I see more frequent trips to the library in our near future!

Apple Cider

Today we tackled making a large batch of apple cider with friends.  An apple press, hundreds of apples, lots of little helping hands and a terrific end result--delicious cider for all!

Walk-a-thon

School walk-a-thon today.

So fun to see all the kiddos out there walking their laps for a good cause.

Max & Mom

It's new for us--some Max and Mom days.  Every Friday and Monday when big sister is at school it's just the two of us for most of the day.  I'm loving it and so is he.  Some one-on-one time.  I'm trying to cherish every moment.  Sometimes its errand day but today it was the zoo.  Looking forward to lots of mother-son time and spending it with my favorite little guy who is teaching me so much and oh, so funny.
