Thriving

Who would have thought...a thriving garden.  Lettuce, oodles of tomatoes, two full rows of carrots and beans taking over.  We did lose the broccoli, some herbs and a smattering of other veggies.  Live and learn. With some TLC, water, sunshine and a little luck the garden is looking pretty good.

Progress from where it started

Campout

We made it as far as the back yard for a campout but the kids didn't seem to mind. They were happy to sleep in a tent, cozy up in their sleeping bags, be goofy, play with flashlights and stay up way past bed time.  Funny, they both slept in until 7:30 the following morning.  Better sleep in a tent than in their own beds! Maybe we should tent it more often.

Swimmer

It wasn't the best technique, but Carmen did make it 25 yards of the pool swimming crawl stroke without stopping.  That was enough to pass the swim test at the beach club.  Hooray!  She was so proud of herself and we are so proud of our little swimmer.  She's been taking lessons and practicing and it's paying off!

Fun for kids, fun for mom

Off to the bouncy houses today for some play time.  Of course I did what any good parent would do...I was on my phone most of the time shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary sale!

Aqua Sox

Our first Aqua Sox game.  It was fun watching baseball, hanging out with friends, bouncing and sliding in the Fun Zone, throwing baseballs and of course consuming way too many treats.  We'll be back for sure.

Pina Coladas

A sunny Sunday after an afternoon of swimming calls for pina coladas.

Cheers!

TJ's

Apparently when you shop at Trader Joe's you get as many stickers as you are tall.  Between the kid carts, the lollipop treat and the stickers, TJ's is a home run with our kiddos.

Gymnastics Camp

Carmen just completed her first full week of camp, gymnastics camp.  It was 6 hours a day for 5 days.  Needless to say, she was tuckered out each day. She played in the foam pit, learned the basics of cartwheels and handstands, enjoyed jumping on the trampoline and learning how to do the bars.

While Carmen was busy all week, Max and I got to spend some fun mommy-son time together.  We were busy too.  We did some gymnastics of our own, went to the golf ranger and had lots of park time.

Truth be told, Max was happy each day when Carmen returned.  He looked forward to seeing his sister. Kind of sweet!
