Confession

Today I bought a bag of Haribo gummy bears and consumed them all in one sitting...had to get it off my chest.  I feel better now.  How I love my Haribo.

Behavior

Behavior has been a bit...lets just say...not on-point at the Skurski household.  There have been lots of time-outs issued and lots of bickering between siblings.  But, it's times like these that remind me that they do in fact love each other.

Flower World

We ventured to Flower World to pick out some things to plant for our new vegetable garden.  What an adventure...

Fancy Nancy

We've read all of the books and today we saw the play.  A 45-minute production with lots of costume changes and lots of singing. The perfect mix to keep a 5-year-old entertained.  It was a girls-only outing; just Carmen and mom.  We don't do those often enough so it was a special time.

 

Show time!

Here is Nancy.

Carmen was super excited to meet her and tell her she had read all of the books.

But, shyness prevailed and she clung to my leg.

Instead of a picture with Nancy, I took Nancy's picture.

It was funny, Carmen was slightly confused that the actress playing Nancy wasn't actually Nancy from the book.  And, where was Frenchy the dog?  How come Bree didn't look like Bree from the book?  Lots and lots of questions. 

Despite question overload, she enjoyed the performance and looks forward to going back. 

I think she enjoyed playing at the playground and running through the water fountain after the show just as much as the show!  She's 5, what should I expect!?

Swinging & Snapping

Carmen has been working hard and has now mastered two new skills--swinging from the monkey bars and finger snapping.  She's been hard at work practicing both.  I must say I can do without the snapping...she's becoming snap-happy.  But, glad she put her mind to something and saw that hard work pays off!

Vancouver

Just returned from a fun weekend in Vancouver.  There was running, 21.1 kilometers to be exact, a little site-seeing, wining and dining and hanging out with good friends.

Ready for the Vancouver half-marathon; envisioning ourselves at the finish.
