Thankful

Today Max came home with this cute hand-print turkey picture.  They were asked what they were thankful for.  Max's answer, "I'm thankful for my two cats."  Funny, we don't have any cats!

Weekend Away

This past weekend I was gone for two sleeps.  Two glorious sleeps.  It was a much needed weekend escape with some girl friends to Gig Harbor.  We ate, we drank, we read, we lounged, we shopped, we hiked.  It was wonderful.  But, somehow, I still managed to miss the daily grind and the chaos that comes with a certain three and four year-old.  But, while I was doing this:

They had dinner for breakfast, watched many movies, had a slumber party in the basement, went to a playdate, went to a birthday party, went to Starbucks, consumed way too many treats.  They seemed to have the ideal weekend with Daddy, so maybe they want me to go away more often.

It was nice to be greeted with endless hugs and a welcome home sign though.  At least I know I was missed (at least a little).

Turkey Time

Carmen was channeling her inner turkey tonight and decided to draw a family of them.  Love her creativity.  She was pleasantly surprised that their bodies looked like hearts.

Dress up

This is a very exited Maxy about his new dinosaur costume (thanks to some good friends)!  He doesn't want to take it off.  He runs around the house chomping and scaring, but is too cute to actually scare.  He sleeps with it too.  I convinced him it was not a good idea to wear it to bed so he settled for snuggling with it instead.  He can't get enough.

This however is not a dress up costume, but an actual outfit.  Yes it is leopard print and comes with a vest and matching hat.  Sigh.  This is not the first time she's been hellbent on wearing it.  However, the other night after she went to bed she crawled out of bed, took the vest and hat off their hook and decided she wanted to wear them to bed.  Here is what we discovered when we went in to check on her before retiring for the night.  Our little fashionista.

Adventure on ice

Today was an adventure.  An adventure on ice.  The second time Carmen has been on ice skates and a first for Max.  Carmen is convinced she wants an ice skating birthday party so we had to try it out just to be sure.  I wouldn't call it an astounding success but it was fun.  Both kiddos had a death grip on our hands and Jimmy and I were both more than a little rusty on skates but we managed.  Max was definitely excited and kept trying to walk and run on the ice which proved a little problematic but there were no major falls.  I guess we'll have to all  improve because the ice skating party is a go.  While she only went around the rink three times during our outing, Carmen still wants an ice party.  If nothing else, she'll look cute in her skates.

Minions Movie Night

It was Minion movie night this week.  Can't say the movie was all that great, but the company was.  It was Max's first time watching a movie on the big screen.  He mostly sat still for about 30 minutes and then definitely had the wiggles.  The popcorn and licorice certainly helped hold his attention.  All of the other kiddos did great and were glued to the screen.  Hooray for a fun outing!
