Weekend

We had a busy, fun weekend.  What summertime is all about. 

Friday:
Girl's night out for me, parade with good friends for the kiddos. 

Saturday:
Trip to the zoo.  Penguins and Gorillas were among the highlights.  And a ride on the carrousel, of course.  Then it was off to run errands before a visit to Edmonds to take advantage of the evening sunshine.

Sunday:
Play date and lunch with long-time friends and their kiddos.  Beautiful sunshine made for a fun afternoon of running around in the backyard. 

Cannon Beach

We escaped for the Oregon coast and spent a couple of days in Cannon Beach.  The weather was perfect.  Beautiful sunshine and soft, soft sand made for a memorable time on the beach.  We strolled through the town, played and picnicked at the park, made sandcastles and hunted for treasures on the beach.  We bought a kite (a bright pink one--guess who picked it out?) and flew it, Max chased the seagulls, we ran in and out of the water and admired Haystack rock.  Carmen asks if we can go there all of the time.  Yes, we will certainly be back.

Do not let them fool you, there was little sleeping to be had the entire trip! 

 

This however was real sleep--two tuckered out kiddos.

 More beach time--digging and displaying treasures.

I think I still have bits of crab shell in my pockets.

Summer Time

Summer time is in full swing.
