Spring is in the air

The days are getting a touch longer and the sun has been out for two days straight.  We took full advantage with some playground play time and are certainly enjoying the sunshine while it lasts.

 

Getting caught up

Last week we did nothing but lie low.  We were both hit with a stomach bug and Jimmy was pretty much down for the count the entire week.  I mostly felt better and did my best to keep the Skurski ship afloat.  The silver lining is that the kiddos didn't catch what we had.  They instead watched a lot of TV and movies over the past week; Carmen was certainly happy about 'dinner and movie' almost every night. We are more than ready to be healthy and get back into routine.  We spent most of the weekend getting caught up with grocery shopping, laundry and the like as we didn't do much of anything for an entire week.

Before all the icky germs hit, we did get together with the entire Skurski family for a fun-filled evening that involved lots of trampoline jumping, climbing, sliding and smiling; there were even some jumps into the big foam pit--both Carmen and Daddy.  We all had a great time playing and just being together.

Snow

It's been chilly the last few days and last night we started to get a little dusting of snow.  The dusting turned into about two inches and it was fun to wake up to everything covered in white.  We quickly took advantage of some snow play time as we knew it wouldn't last long.  Luckily it was the perfect snow for playing--we tromped around the yard, built a snowman, made snow angels and threw snowballs.  Carmen was in heaven.  Max, well lets just say he tolerated the cold for a little while but had a better time inside looking out the window at the fun.  We are thoroughly enjoying our winter wonderland while it lasts!

 

 

 

 

 

Mail Call

Carmen and Max received a special package in the mail packed with valentine surprises post marked from AZ.  Grandma and Papa 'Son' outdid themselves again.  There were stickers, window clings, banners and cut-outs, decorations and other festive things all to help us get ready to celebrate heart-day.  To be honest, Max was more interested in eating a cracker but Carmen was over the moon as she pulled out each item from the package one-by-one.  There were lots of ooohs and aaaaahs from Carmen for sure.

Seahawks Celebration

Today a parade was held for Superbowl champs--the Seattle Seahawks!  Jimmy was one of the 750,000 fans who lined Seattle's streets in 25 degree weather to join in the celebration.  Apparently it was quite a site to see.  Here are a few pics of the fanfare.
