Halloween Festivities
Today we got warmed up for Halloween. Carmen and I made tasty witches hats. She perfected unwrapping Hershey kisses and carefully placing them in the middle of colored frosting. Easiest kid-friend-treat ever! Of course, her favorite part was sampling them.
We then headed over to good friends for dinner, pumpkin carving and lots and lots of Halloween fun and surprises.

Pumpkin Patch
Today we visited the pumpkin patch and got into the Halloween spirit. We...
...rode a tractor
...hunted for four perfect 'carve-worthy' pumpkins
...explored the pumpkin patch and got very, very dirty
...adventured our way through a corn maze
...put our heads in more cut-outs and took silly pictures
...enjoyed lots and lots of kettle corn
...had a great time with our friends!
(note: Carmen wore jeans for the first time today in about a year--progress!)

Playtime
Just a few pics from today's playtime. We went to an indoor area where Carmen and Max enjoyed playing in a ball pit--well, truth be told from the picture below, Carmen liked it a lot more than Max. Max was busy trying to throw the balls out of the pit, climb on everything he wasn't supposed to and was desperately trying to escape by running out the door. Carmen found every baby doll she could and put them all in timeout. Apparently she's had a lot of practice with timeout so she is familiar with the drill!

Mail Surprise
Today Carmen and Max were in Halloween heaven. A special package arrived from Grandma and Papa Stephenson in the mail. There were stickers, decorations, glow-necklaces and other special treats. Both kiddos were smiling ear to ear!

Fall Festival
Tonight we joined friends at a community Fall Festival for some Friday evening fun. There was apple cider making, a bouncy house and pony rides. Carmen opted out of anything having to do with the horses, was hesitant about jumping with the big kids in the inflatable house but eventually came around. She mostly enjoyed eating a cookie, running around inside with her friend and being chased by daddy. Max was more enthusiastic about the horses and squealed when he saw them, he happily chomped what was left of Carmen's cookie (without her knowing) and enjoyed staying up way past bed time.
