Fish

Today we visited the aquarium. We saw lots of fish, got to touch a star fish, admired the octopus and watched the sea otters dart by.  While we saw all of these wonderful things, Carmen was more interested in pointing at the kids, watching the TV monitors and feeling the fake coral walls.  Oh well, she's one! 

Saturday Morning Bed Head

First Steps

Carmen has finally started walking (when she feels like it).  While she won't be running any marathons soon, she is starting to get the hang of it.  It's fun to see those arms out to the side or in front for balance; we think she looks like an extra from the Michael Jackson Thriller video (of course she is way cuter).

Snow

We had lots of it the last few days. It was fun getting out in it for awhile but just as nice watching it fall from the comfort of the living room.  Carmen didn't quite know what to make of it and refused to wear her gloves so she ended up with 10 little popsicles.  Maybe she will learn...then again, probably not (she takes after her mother).

Curling

Today we tried something new...curling.  Who would have thunk there was a curling club here?  And, it was packed, packed, packed.  We learned terms like: stone, sweep, gripper, front of the house, and skip, to name a few.  Believe me, it's much harder than it looks.  My stomach hurt from laughing so hard but we all started to finally get the hang of it and no one fell on the ice.  Curling league...here we come? 

Night Out

This weekend we had a grown-up night out attending Jim's company party at the Space Needle.  We ate, we drank, enjoyed adult conversation and taking in the beautiful view 520 feet above the city.

Brusha Brusha

Carmen loves her new toothbrush.  While she only has eight pearly whites, I'm happy she enjoys giving each a good scrub (when we remember to have toothbrush time).  Those teeth need a little TLC after consuming her two new favorite foods--split pea soup and watermelon!

Happy New Year

It's been an amazing year for the Skurski family.  So many wonderful things to reflect on and be grateful for.  Wishing everyone a healthy, fun and fulfilling 2012.  In keeping with tradition...
